Looking for Forever Families

Why Do the Adoption Fees Vary?

Sometimes people notice that our adoption fees aren’t the same for every cat or dog, here’s why:

  • Higher demand pets help others. Certain colors or coat patterns and popular breeds usually find homes more quickly. Their slightly higher fees help cover the care of our longer-term residents who need extra time and attention.

  • It’s about fairness, not value. No pet is “worth more” than another—the fee simply helps us balance costs and give every animal a chance at life.

When you adopt, you’re not just bringing home a new family member, you’re helping save lives.

Tucked in the heart of Central Texas, Orphan Annie’s Neonatal Rescue is a lifeline for the tiniest and most fragile kittens and puppies—babies who would not survive without specialized care. Founded by a neonatal nurse anesthesiologist and a wildlife rehabilitator, this rescue brings medical expertise and round-the-clock devotion to the sickest, smallest, and most vulnerable lives.

Every bottle baby is hand-raised with love, nurtured back to health, and carefully socialized so they can grow into happy, affectionate companions. At Orphan Annie’s, no life is too small to fight for, and every fragile heartbeat is given a chance at forever.
